　スワンエクセルガイドワイヤーの最大の特徴は、この斬新なデザインにより生み出された白鳥の嘴のようなスワンネック形状です。この形状を採用することにより、側枝への迷入を最大限防ぐことが可能です。
従来のアングル形状では細い側枝へ迷入することが多いのですが、スワンワイヤーはその危険性が軽減されます。
従ってスワンワイヤーは、手技中の合併症を軽減することができ、術者は集中してカテーテル手技を行うことができます。また、形状部が大きく成形されているため、カテーテルへの挿入性も向上しており、スムーズなカテーテル交換をサポートします。

The greatest feature of the Swan Excel Guide Wire, by adopting this shape, prevents aberration to the side branch as much as possible.
In the conventional angle shape, it often gets enters a narrow side branch, but the Swan Excel Guide Wire reduces danger.
Therefore, the Swan Excel Guide Wire reduces complications. In addition, since the part being inserted is slightly larger than conventional guide wires, insert ability improved, and smooth catheter exchange is supported.

　現在の心臓カテーテル検査や治療は、主に橈骨動脈を用いることが多くなり、従来のアングル型のガイドワイヤーで検査を行う場合には、血管の側枝へ迷入もしくは血管穿孔という合併症を引き起こすリスクが高くなります。しかしながら、スワンエクセルガイドワイヤーは、特殊なスワンカーブを採用したことにより、合併症を軽減し、術者がストレスを感じることなくスムーズな検査と治療を実現しました。

In the current cardiac catheter examination and treatment, the radial artery is mainly used.
The conventional shape of guide wires leaves a high risk of complication such as aberration into a side branch or blood vessel perforation. However, the Swan Excel Guide Wire adopted a special curve, which reduces complications and realizes smooth examination and treatment.

Excellent Hydrophilic Coating

　スワンエクセルガイドワイヤーは、独自の技術による親水性コーティングを施しており、血管壁に対する損傷を回避し、スムーズなワイリングを可能とします。
細径の造影カテーテルとの摩擦は最小限にし、円滑なカテ操作をサポートします。

The Swan Excel Guide Wire has a hydrophilic coating, avoiding damage to the blood vessel wall and allowing smooth travel.
In addition, friction is reduced with the small diameter catheter thereby preventing complications.

How to prepare before using the wire

10cc以上のシリンジでフラッシュします生食がストレーナーから出てくることを確認してください。

Coat the Swan Excel Guide Wire with approximately 10cc Saline Water until The Swan Excel Guide Wire becomes slightly slick.

コーティングが水を含んで膨潤します、ぬるぬる感が出るので、数秒待ちます。

The coating swells with water. Wait a few seconds, until it gives a slimy feeling.

十分に水を含ませた後、ワイヤーをストレーナーから引き出します。

After containing enough water, pull out the water the wire from the housing.

使用しない時は、水を含ませたバットなどへ入れ、乾燥を避けてください。

When not in use, put it in a water-containing bat etc., please avoid drying.

Left Radial Artery Approach

　冠動脈造影検査におけるスワンエクセルワイヤーの走行の様子です。
左橈骨動脈より上腕動脈そして鎖骨下動脈にかけてスワンエクセルワイヤーは伸びた形で進みます。
血管径が比較的小さな動脈に対しては、くねったように走行していきます。スワンの２つのカーブが互いに血管壁に接触しながら、先端を内腔へ向かせ進んでいきます。
血管径が大きくなる鎖骨下動脈に達すると、形状をスワン型へと変え、上行大動脈へ到達します。
このようにスワンワイヤーの特殊形状は、側枝への迷入を避け、安全に挿入することを可能としています。

The above film is the insertion of the guide wire into the radial artery to the ascending aorta. The Swan Excel Guide Wire, being curved, more easily finds its way through the radial artery, to the subclavian, into the aortic root, and eventually to the coronary artery. When the guide wire reaches the aorta, the shape changes into a special curve enabling safe and easy travel. In conclusion, the special shape of the Swan excel wire allows the operator to perform the procedure with ease, and reduces the risk of complications substantially.
